While Canon has been among the leaders in DSLR photography, specifically cameras with CMOS powered sensors with growing resolution and light sensitivity. Each time Canon released a camera it would get a bump in image quality and ISO range. The arrival of the 7D in 2009 was one of those cameras, it boasted 18 megapixels and an ISO range of 12,800. There has been little true innovation since this original sensor in 2009 with all cameras that followed in this line having only received small variations. While the Canon affecianardos among us patiently waited for the release of some exciting new tech from Canon we began to wonder if there was ever going to be an upgrade.
